DCA began its operations in Ethiopia in the mid-1970s and has since supported food- insecure and crisis-affected populations through both emergency relief and development programming. Its interventions are implemented either directly or in partnership with local and national organizations, with particular attention to refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities. The DCA Ethiopia country Programme for the period 2022 to December 2026, revised from the original 2022–2027 plan to align with DCA’s global country Programme evaluation, guides the organisation’s strategic engagement in the country. The programme is implemented across multiple regions, including Gambella (Itang Special District, Agnuak and Nuer Zones), Amhara (Waghimra, North Wollo and South Wollo Zones), Afar (Zones 1, 2 and 4), Oromia (East Bale, Bale and Borena Zones), and the Southern Region (South Omo and Ari Zones).
