INTRODUCTION The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral, and independent humanitarian organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC also endeavours toprevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. The ICRC has been present in Ethiopia for decades, supporting affected communities across the country through protection, assistance, and cooperation activities, including in the areas of health, water and habitat, economic security, and physical rehabilitation. In carrying out its operations, the ICRC relies on a robust and responsive supply chain, of which transport and logistics services are a critical component. In the conduct of its procurement activities, the ICRC applies the core principles of fairness, transparency, impartiality, and competition, ensuring that all interested and qualified suppliers are given equal opportunity to participate in its procurement processes, in accordance with international humanitarian procurement standards and best practice. 2. PURPOSE OF THE EOI The ICRC Ethiopia Delegation invites qualified and experienced transport companies and lifting equipment service providers to express their interest in being considered for future procurement opportunities related to commercial transportation and cargo handling services across Ethiopia.
